Can you tell what fonts I've reproduced in this page? Some of them are pretty easy to recognize, but some of them are a bit tricky. Not all of these fonts are going to be major characters in the comic, but I'm really excited to introduce the ones that are ;)
Anyway, here’s a little look at some of the cubicle areas at the League. But what you might be wondering is why we've only seen indoor scenes of the League, and no exterior shot so we can actually see what it looks like. But don't worry, we will see it - later in the story. There’s a specific reason I’m not showing it yet.
A lot of this comic is inspired by my love for Dilbert, which probably seems like an unlikely mix, but my inspirations are varied! If I had to describe LoF, I’d probably call it “Dilbert with fonts.”
So I assume Helvetica will eventually make an appearance but I'm curious about whether Arial or Helvetica Neue will and how you'll distinguish them. In particular I'm interested in how you decide to distinguish Arial and Helvetica if you choose to have them both show up.
(For the record I don't like Arial, but I think Helvetica is decent).
Haha, it's interesting that you brought up distinguishing between Arial and Helvetica... that's actually a fairly major plot point to come, haha! No spoilers, but it will DEFINITELY show up. :)
I always want to include some left-handed characters in my comics, and I often forget, just because everyone is so used to seeing and drawing right-handed characters! (I'm right-handed, but I still think it's important to draw lefties). So I make sure to sneak one in once in a while. I'm happy you noticed!
Oh my gosh, hi! And yes, it is Courier! I'm so happy you've finally commented after reading silently, I really love interacting with readers. And I would love it if you would recommend it to people! Thank you for reading :)
The new characters are so intriguing - I can't wait to get to know them all! And on another note, it's amazing how well you've replicated all the fonts on this page - it fits so well with the hand-drawn feel of the comic.
Oh my gosh, I'm so happy you like it! Honestly this page kind of gave me a hard time with balancing everything, so I'm glad I've pulled it off! I like pages with lots of different fonts.
Yes! It won't really be a major plot point since very few of the "main" characters are wingdings-type fonts. But I'm happy you like Wingdings's design! They're wearing old women's riding gear, and of course, clown makeup...
(For the record I don't like Arial, but I think Helvetica is decent).
Been reading this silently and LOVE IT!! FONTS GO~!
I am also fussy about fonts, and some of my friends are too, so yea I'll recommend this to them (sorry it's late!).
Time to start re-reading Chapel...while sneaking off time from work. Thank goodness I'm a translator so I'm always in front of the compie anyway, lol.
Blessed Be <3
How'd you determine that Lucida is a leftie? :3
On a not so different note, I suddenly have the overwhelming desire to cosplay Wingdings... they're so cute.
